Jan 9, 2026, ADRA completed the distribution of relief assistance to families affected by the late-2025 natural disasters. We sincerely thank the Hue City Red Cross, the local authorities of Dan Dien and Quang Dien communes, as well as former colleagues and friends, for their generous support and cooperation.
We hope ADRA’s assistance will help 215 affected households recover from their losses and rebuild their lives as soon as possible.

Impact stories:

Every morning, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, 67, quietly sweeps the yard in front of her small house by the Bo River in Quang Dien commune, Hue City. Living alone and classified as a poor household, her small flock of chickens is her only livelihood and hope for the upcoming Lunar New Year.
In late October 2025, unusually severe floods hit the area. Water from the Bo River flooded her home three times, rising to nearly one meter and leaving no dry space inside. Ms. Lan struggled to save her chickens, placing them on a raised table while she perched on a small plastic container for hours as the floodwaters surged around her.
When the water finally receded, her home was left muddy and damp—and her entire flock was gone. For Ms. Lan, losing the chickens meant losing her sole means of income and her chance to recover after the disaster.
Her story is a microcosm of hundreds of households living in the flood-prone heart of Quang Dien—people who, though accustomed to floods, remain painfully vulnerable to increasingly severe natural disasters.
Ms. Lan is one of the households that received emergency cash assistance from ADRA, offering her renewed hope to rebuild her livelihood and welcome a more secure Lunar New Year.
